| MATA initially started off with 17 branches in 2002 and has since grown to a total of 30 branches in communities throughout Mpumalanga that currently cover 12 municipal areas. The main objective of these branches is to provide Home Based Care and Social Assistance to TB and HIV+ patients and their families as well as managing empowerment projects. As most branch members are unemployed volunteers and they contribute so much in the fight against TB and HIV, that the organisation intends to acquire enough funding to provide them with monthly stipends. Currently we have ±600 volunteers on record who are actively involved in the various projects run by the organisation, which includes advocating and raising awareness for TB and HIV awareness in the various communities. |
