In some cases the standard of formal education of our volunteers is below the acceptable employment entry level requirements, thus they are included in schooling projects through ABET (Adult Basic Education and Training) which is meant to assist them in securing possible future employment. We make use of accredited institutions for training in project; financial; and operational management in order to ensure accountability and the smooth day to day running of their respective branches.

Branches are requested to nominate one "Volunteer of the Year" on an annual basis, based on the service they have provided to patients. These nominees are then presented with a merit certificate and a R100-00 shopping voucher at our Annual Provincial Conference.
